Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway, pleaded not guilty to extortion and wire fraud charges in federal court. Van der Sloot is accused of attempting to sell fake information about the location of Holloway's body to her mother in exchange for $250,000. This marks the first time Beth Holloway has seen van der Sloot face-to-face. Van der Sloot was convicted of murder in Peru in 2010 and is currently being held in the US while the federal case against him is ongoing.
