The officer claimed he fired in self-defense as Henderson drove away at a high speed with the officer stuck between the door and the driver’s compartment. Henderson's family and attorneys have criticized the decision, citing the officer's violation of use of force policies and Henderson's civil rights. The family has called for the release of the unredacted video footage.
