The murder trial of Lori Vallow, also known as the "cult mom," began with jury selection on Monday. Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, are accused of killing her two children and Daybell's ex-wife between September and October 2019. The couple allegedly collected the children's Social Security benefits after their murders. Vallow and Daybell were indicted on multiple counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and grand theft by deception, among other charges. The trial has been delayed due to Vallow's competency examinations and an "exceptionally voluminous" collection of evidence.
