Jason 'Jay' Kurland, known as the 'Lottery Lawyer', has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for stealing $107 million from lottery winners to fund his lavish lifestyle. Kurland used his position as a lawyer to steer his clients to invest millions in companies he secretly owned and took illegal kickbacks based on those investments. He was convicted of wire fraud, honest services wire fraud, and money laundering. Kurland's co-conspirator, Christopher Chierchio, was sentenced to five years in prison. Kurland, Chierchio, and two other co-defendants stole roughly $107 million from the innocent victims.
