Man accused of shooting North Carolina family over stray ball to be extradited

Robert Singletary, a North Carolina man who was free on bond for a sledgehammer attack on his girlfriend, has been accused of shooting a 6-year-old girl and her parents after a basketball rolled into his yard. Singletary allegedly opened fire after children playing at the White home went into his yard to retrieve a basketball. The girl was grazed on the cheek, while her mother was hit in the elbow and her father was shot in the back and is in serious condition. Singletary fled to Florida but surrendered to authorities on Thursday. He is facing multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
