Man Fatally Beaten on Portland's Eastbank Esplanade Identified by Police

70-year-old John A. Garcia was beaten to death on Portland's Eastbank Esplanade, with 29-year-old Abel Nistor arrested and charged with murder in the second degree and unlawful use of a weapon. Witnesses reported Nistor repeatedly punching Garcia in the head, with one witness hearing Nistor say, "He needs to die." Nistor was confronted by a security guard and later arrested by police.
