Maryland Sheriff Indicted for Illegal Machine Gun Conspiracy

Maryland Sheriff Charles Austin Jenkins and firearms dealer Justin Krop have been indicted for conspiring to purchase machine guns illegally and falsifying documents. Krop allegedly possessed seven machine guns illegally, while both men are accused of using falsified documents to supply machine guns that Krop's customers could rent. Jenkins faces five years in prison, while Krop faces a maximum sentence of fifteen years. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office held a press conference hours after being notified of the indictment by the DOJ, where Jenkins' spokesman said he will continue to serve as sheriff as the process plays out.
