Michael K. Williams' drug dealer pleads guilty in overdose death case.

A drug dealer, Irvin Cartagena, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute drugs that resulted in the death of actor Michael K. Williams due to a fentanyl-laced heroin overdose. Williams died in September 2021 after buying the heroin from Cartagena on a Brooklyn sidewalk. Cartagena faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and the possibility of as many as 40 years. Prosecutors said Cartagena and his alleged co-conspirators continued to sell fentanyl-laced heroin even after they learned of the actor’s death.
