Michigan Man and Teen Arrested for Planning Antisemitic Mass Shooting at Synagogue

The FBI arrested a 19-year-old man in Michigan for allegedly planning a mass shooting at a synagogue in East Lansing. Seann Pietila expressed Neo-Nazi ideology, antisemitism, and glorified mass shooters, including the New Zealand mosque shooter. He was allegedly plotting a mass killing at Shaarey Zedek Congregation on the five-year anniversary of the Christchurch attack. Pietila was charged with “transmitting a communication containing a threat to injure another.” The FBI started investigating after receiving a report of “threatening communications” through Instagram on June 13.
