Michigan Man Arrested for Planning Mass Shooting at Synagogue in East Lansing

A Michigan man, Seann Patrick Pietila, was arrested by the FBI for planning a mass killing at a synagogue in East Lansing. Pietila frequently posted anti-Semitic remarks on Instagram and was inspired by the men convicted of two mass shootings in New Zealand and Norway. He was charged with one count of interstate communication of threats and was found with a note listing the synagogue and the date of the New Zealand mass shooting, along with a list of equipment including pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails, and firearms. Pietila's next hearing is scheduled for June 22.
