Michigan priest sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting 5-year-old boy.

An 84-year-old Catholic priest, Vincent DeLorenzo, has been sentenced to a year in jail in Michigan after pleading guilty to attempted criminal sexual conduct with a 5-year-old boy in 1987. Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal with state prosecutors. DeLorenzo served at several churches, including three in Genesee County, and was removed from Holy Redeemer Church in Burton in 2002 after acknowledging "inappropriate sexual contact" with a child. He was charged in 2019 after moving to Florida, and five people gave victim-impact statements in court.
