Minneapolis Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, Including Police Officer and Suspect

A Minneapolis police officer, Jamal Mitchell, was killed in an ambush while responding to a shooting call. The suspected gunman and another person also died, and a third person was gravely injured. A second officer and a firefighter were injured. Mitchell, who was engaged and had been honored for previous heroic actions, was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center. The incident follows a similar tragic event in a nearby suburb three months prior.
