Mississippi officer suspended for shooting 11-year-old.

A Mississippi police officer, Sgt. Greg Capers, who shot an unarmed 11-year-old Black boy in his home has been suspended without pay. The boy was hospitalized for five days with a collapsed lung, lacerated liver, and fractured ribs. The family is pushing for Capers to be fired and prosecuted. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is examining the case, and the family has filed a federal lawsuit against Indianola, the police chief, and Capers. The lawsuit seeks at least $5 million, alleging that Capers used excessive force and that Indianola failed to properly train the officer.
