Missouri executes man for killing two jailers in botched jailbreak.

Michael Tisius, a Missouri man, was executed by lethal injection for killing two sheriff's deputies in a failed bid to free a former cellmate when he was 19 years old. Despite several jurors petitioning for a reduced sentence, Missouri's Republican governor Mike Parson rejected a clemency request for Tisius. Lawyers for Tisius had argued that he should be spared the death penalty as he suffered from mental illness.
