Multiple Arrests Made After Fentanyl-Laced Gummy Bears Cause Illness in Virginia Elementary School

Two adults have been arrested in Virginia after a group of fourth-grade students at an elementary school became sick from ingesting gummy bears that were found to have residue testing positive for fentanyl. The students experienced symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and muscle spasms. The gummies themselves tested negative for a foreign substance, but the residue in the bag tested positive for fentanyl. The incident is believed to have occurred either at home or during transportation to school. The arrested individuals are facing charges related to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of a controlled substance. All students have received medical care and returned home, and the school has been cleaned as a precaution.
