Multiple Arrests Made in Connection to Fentanyl-Related Death of Texas High School Student

An 18-year-old man, Jaquell Desean Ray, has been arrested and charged with murder in the fentanyl overdose death of a 15-year-old Lehman High School student in Hays County, Texas. The victim was found unresponsive in a home in Kyle on April 11 and pronounced dead despite life-saving measures. Authorities believe Ray sold the victim the lethal dose of fentanyl. This is the latest in a string of fentanyl deaths in Hays CISD, with at least 16 overdoses in the Kyle area last year, of which seven resulted in deaths.
