Multiple Oath Keepers Sentenced to Prison for Role in Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

David Moerschel, a member of the Oath Keepers group, has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot. Moerschel was part of a "stack" formation that breached the Capitol and joined a mob that attacked officers. He was convicted of seditious conspiracy along with three other Oath Keepers. Moerschel received one of the shorter sentences, while the founder of the group, Stewart Rhodes, was sentenced to 18 years in prison. The defendants plotted to stop the transfer of power by force, recruiting members and amassing paramilitary gear, weapons, and supplies.
