Multiple Shootings in Columbia Leave Victims Injured and Dead

Two people believed to be hostages have left the apartment where a suspect in a deadly Columbia shooting remained holed up on Tuesday afternoon. The suspect is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Janet L. Jago, 72, in a south Columbia neighborhood. Crisis negotiators are trying to get the possible suspect out of the apartment. The police have identified the suspect and have been surveilling him since Monday night. The victim was taken to a local hospital and it is unclear when she was pronounced dead.
