Multiple Teen Overdoses at Tennessee High School Leave Two Dead and One Hospitalized

A suspected drug overdose outside a high school in Tennessee has resulted in the death of two teenagers, with a third hospitalized in critical condition. The father of one of the victims identified his daughter as Alyssa Thorne, 16, and believes she died from cocaine laced with fentanyl. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case. Fayette County has seen 42 overdoses in 2021, four of them deadly, and the recent spike in cases is unknown. Grief counselors will be available for students and staff, and a balloon release vigil will be held in the school's rear parking lot.
