Murder suspect linked to disappearance and death of ex and daughter in Washington.

The deaths of Meshay Melendez and her daughter Layla Stewart have raised questions about why Kirkland Warren, who was out on bail pending a murder trial in Arkansas, was released from custody after being arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and firing a gunshot into her apartment. Warren was the last person seen with the mother and daughter before they disappeared. Their bodies were discovered in thick brush down a road embankment on Wednesday. The family and friends of Melendez and Stewart have asserted the criminal justice system let them down.
