Mysterious Disappearance of Convicted Iowa Man

Gregory Showalter Sr., an Iowa man convicted of killing his wife, was arrested after failing to appear in court to hear the jury's guilty verdict. Showalter had been out on bail and was required to wear a GPS monitor. When police went to his home, they found a woman who said Showalter had given her his keys and made a comment about not needing them anymore. Showalter, considered armed and dangerous, was later taken into custody. He had been found guilty of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, willful injury causing serious injury, and domestic abuse assault. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 16.
