Natalee Holloway suspect extradited to US to face charges.

Joran van der Sloot, who has been connected to the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway, is being temporarily extradited from Peru to the United States to face federal charges of wire fraud and extortion related to Holloway's disappearance. He had demanded $250,000 from Holloway's mother, claiming to have knowledge of the missing girl's remains, and received $25,000 after providing false information. The United States has not charged him with Holloway's death or disappearance. Van der Sloot is currently serving a sentence for the murder of Stephany Flores, a Peruvian student, in 2010.
