New Mexico Police Fatally Shoot Homeowner at Wrong Address

New Mexico police shot and killed Robert Dotson after mistakenly knocking on his door to investigate a domestic violence incident, even though they questioned dispatchers as to whether they were at the correct address. Dotson answered the door with a gun in hand, pointing it at the cops, who immediately opened fire, killing him. The officers are on paid leave pending an investigation. Body-camera footage and 911 audio of the incident were released by the department.
