"NJ Cop Sentenced for Off-Duty Vehicular Homicide and Body Desecration"

A former New Jersey police officer, Louis Santiago, has been sentenced to five years in prison for hitting and killing a nurse with his car, driving the body home, and then returning to the scene after speaking to his parents. Santiago pleaded guilty to three felony counts, including driving while intoxicated, in connection with the crash that killed Damian Dymka. The victim's father offered forgiveness to Santiago during an emotional hearing, while the prosecutor described Santiago's actions as "despicable" and "disgusting." Santiago's mother and cousin were also charged in relation to the incident.
