NYPD Shoots Man in Emotional Distress Holding Scissors and Knife in the Bronx

A man in mental distress was shot and critically wounded by a New York City police officer in the Bronx after responding to a 911 call. The man was holding scissors and a 12-inch kitchen knife and raced towards the officers before sprinting towards another man nearby. The officers told the man to drop the scissors, but he did not, and one officer fired three shots, hitting the man twice. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
