Ohio Fishermen Plead Guilty to Cheating in Walleye Tournament

Two men have pleaded guilty to cheating and unlawful ownership of wild animals after stuffing fish with lead weights and fillets in an attempt to win a fishing tournament in Ohio. As part of a plea deal, they agreed to three-year suspensions of their fishing licenses and Cominsky also agreed to give up his $100,000 bass boat. Prosecutors plan to recommend a sentence of six months’ probation and later ask for an expungement of their convictions if they successfully complete their probation. The men were investigated for cheating in a different walleye tournament earlier this year, but there was not enough evidence to charge them.
