Ohio Mom Sentenced to Life for Leaving Toddler Alone on 10-Day Vacation

Kristel Candelario, an Ohio mother, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole after pleading guilty to aggravated murder and child endangerment for leaving her 16-month-old daughter alone in a playpen for 10 days, resulting in the toddler's death from starvation and severe dehydration. The judge condemned her actions as the "ultimate betrayal" and emphasized that she should spend the rest of her life in a cell without freedom, unlike the care she denied her daughter.
