Police Justify Fatal Shooting of CT College Student Attempting to Enter SC Home

Police in South Carolina have determined that a man was justified in fatally shooting a college student from Connecticut who mistakenly tried to enter his home. The student, identified as Nicholas Anthony Donofrio, was repeatedly knocking, banging, and kicking at the front door before breaking a window and reaching inside to access the doorknob. The homeowner, who legally owned the firearm for personal and home protection, fired a single shot through the broken window, killing Donofrio. The incident is being investigated as a case of self-defense.
