Police Officer Accused of Aiding Proud Boys Leader in DC Arrest

A Washington DC police officer, who headed an intelligence unit, has been indicted on charges of obstruction of justice and making false statements after allegedly leaking confidential information to the leader of the far-right Proud Boys group, Enrique Tarrio. The officer, Shane Lamond, is accused of warning Tarrio about an arrest warrant and leaking other law enforcement information. Lamond faces a maximum of 30 years in prison if convicted. Tarrio pleaded guilty to charges in the Black Lives banner case and was sentenced to five months in prison.
