"Police Shoot Suspect in Brooklyn Double Homicide: Stepfather and Stepson Dead"

Police in Brooklyn fatally shot Jason Pass, a suspect wanted for the double homicide of his neighbors, Bladimy Mathurin and Chin Wai Mode. Pass, a former state correction officer and MTA subway conductor, was stopped in his car after a license plate reader identified him as a possible murder suspect. Pass exited his vehicle, brandished a knife, and fled on foot, leading to a 15-minute standoff with police. He charged towards the officers with the knife, prompting them to fire multiple rounds, hitting Pass in the leg and chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident is under investigation.
