Recent Spate of Violent Attacks on NYC Subway and Bus Commuters

A homeless woman, identified as Shemecca Wise, randomly shoved an 18-year-old teenager onto the subway tracks at the 75th Street-Elderts Lane station in Woodhaven, Queens. The victim suffered only a cut to her leg and was able to climb back onto the platform with the help of other passengers. Wise fled the scene but was later arrested at a nearby homeless shelter where she lives. She was charged with reckless endangerment and assault.
