Rochester Mayor and Police Chief tackle surge of violence on North Clinton Ave.

Five people were shot, one fatally, in separate incidents on North Clinton Avenue in Rochester. The shootings occurred around 1 a.m. during a fight between a group of women, and officers on patrol heard the gunfire. The victims included a 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries, a 22-year-old man who was pronounced dead, a 23-year-old man in critical condition, and a 13-year-old girl. The shootings were unrelated to each other and to a minor stabbing that occurred nearby. Rochester's mayor and police chief condemned the violence and urged people to go home, while police continue to investigate and are seeking information from the public.
