Stolen police cruiser pursuit ends in suspect's death.

A suspect who stole a California Highway Patrol cruiser during a police pursuit has died after jumping out of the car at a high rate of speed. The pursuit began after officers received a report of a reckless driver in the Newhall area. The suspect eventually crashed his Toyota Corolla but managed to steal the CHP cruiser shortly after. The driver jumped from the moving vehicle after one of the rear tires went flat due to a spike strip, leaving him struggling to control the cruiser. The suspect was treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital, where he later died.
