Ohio convenience store owner Rick Chow, who was charged with fatally shooting a 14-year-old on suspicion of shoplifting, has a history of resorting to violence to protect his business from alleged thieves. Chow had previously shot at a shoplifter in 2018 and confronted a woman who grabbed two cases of beer and a package of boiled peanuts in 2015. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott condemned Chow's use of lethal force, emphasizing that Sunday's deadly shooting was not justified.
