Suspect arrested for defacing Black Lives Matter mural in Hartford.

Hartford police have arrested Scott Franklin, 36, for a hate crime incident that occurred over the weekend. Franklin was charged with third-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias, second-degree breach of peace, and second-degree criminal mischief. The incident involved vandalizing the Black Lives Matter mural with a swastika and the numbers 14 and 88. The Hartford Police Department's major crime and intelligence unit investigated the incident and identified Franklin as the suspect. Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin praised the police department's quick action and emphasized that there is no place for hate in Hartford.
