Teen Arrested for Deliberately Paralyzing Maryland Officer: Authorities

A 19-year-old teenager in Maryland, Frederick Raphael Mayorga, has been accused of intentionally striking and paralyzing a police officer with his car on a highway. Mayorga, known for provoking officers into chasing him, was allegedly trying to bait the officers into pursuing him. The officer, Sgt. Patrick Kepp, had parked on the side of the highway to put down stop sticks when he was struck by Mayorga's vehicle. Kepp lost the use of both his legs as a result. Mayorga now faces charges including attempted first-degree murder.
