Testimony of Ex-Girlfriend and Hitman Revealed in FSU Professor's Murder Trial

Katherine Magbanua, the ex-girlfriend of a Broward County periodontist, testified in court that her ex-boyfriend, Charlie Adelson, was the mastermind behind the 2014 murder of Florida State University law professor Daniel Markel. Magbanua admitted to connecting Adelson to the hitman and receiving payments from him for the murder-for-hire plot. Adelson's sister and Markel were involved in a bitter custody dispute at the time of the murder. Magbanua's testimony revealed new details about the case, and Adelson is currently on trial for first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
