Texas Police Confirm Death of Suspect in Joliet Area Shooting Rampage

Romeo Nance, a 23-year-old fugitive suspect wanted in the shooting deaths of eight people and the wounding of another in the Joliet area, died from a self-inflicted gunshot during a confrontation with U.S. marshals near San Antonio, Texas. The two-day rampage included the worst violence some suburban police had ever seen, with multiple deceased individuals found in two homes. Nance had a criminal history and was previously considered armed and dangerous. The victims' ages, genders, and relationships to each other have not been released, and the incidents appear to be random.
