Texas Woman Fatally Shot by Boyfriend in Abortion-Related Murder

A man in Dallas, Texas, fatally shot his girlfriend, Gabriella Gonzalez, after she returned from Colorado where she had gone to get an abortion. The man, Harold Thompson, was the father of the child and did not want Gonzalez to get an abortion. Thompson tried to put Gonzalez in a chokehold, and when she shrugged him off, he shot her in the head and multiple times before running away. Thompson was arrested and charged with murder. Gonzalez's sister was at the scene and heard the shooting, and another witness saw Thompson try to choke Gonzalez. Thompson had previously been charged with assaulting a family member in March.
