Tragedy Strikes Wisconsin Deputy Shot While Tending to DUI Suspect.

St. Croix County Deputy Kaitie Leising was shot and killed while responding to a possible drunk driver who drove into a ditch. The suspect, Jeremiah D. Johnson, shot Leising after becoming evasive to her requests to perform field sobriety tests. Leising returned fire but did not hit Johnson before he fled to a wooded area. Johnson was later found dead with a handgun near him. The Wisconsin DOJ is leading the investigation with the assistance of neighboring law enforcement agencies.
