Tragic Chain of Events: Owner Sets Fire at Tattoo Parlor, Dies in Crash

The owner of a tattoo parlor in Madison deliberately set fire to the shop before dying in a crash on the Beltline minutes later, according to the Madison Fire Department. Surveillance footage showed the owner leaving the building, moving a motorcycle to the front, and then the building catching fire. The owner, identified as Ted Heffner, 71, crashed into another vehicle while driving the wrong way on the Beltline. The fire caused significant damage to the shop, estimated at $300,000.
