Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Father and Son

Albuquerque police have determined that a man started a fire in his home, resulting in his own death and the death of his 7-year-old son. The man, identified as Luis Barraza-Robles, had been fighting with his wife, Olivia Cuen-Lopez, and threatened her with a knife. He attempted to leave the residence with his son but both succumbed to smoke inhalation before exiting. Cuen-Lopez, trapped by the fire, was rescued by firefighters. The incident is being investigated as a homicide and highlights the tragic consequences of domestic violence.
