Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Life of Arlington Police Officer on Motorcycle

An off-duty Arlington police officer, Officer Darrin McMichael, was killed in a possible hit-and-run crash on Interstate 20 in Southeast Dallas while on his way to work. The officer bumped the car in front of him, fell off his motorcycle, and was run over by a dark-colored Dodge or Chrysler SUV, which fled the scene. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating the SUV. McMichael, a 24-year veteran of the Arlington Police Department, was a respected member of the force, and his death has left the department devastated.
