Tragic Loss: 2nd Indiana State Trooper Killed by Fleeing Vehicle

Two teenagers have been arrested and jailed for using a stolen vehicle to hit and kill an Indiana State Police trooper during a pursuit. The trooper, Aaron N. Smith, was assisting in the pursuit when he was struck by the suspect vehicle and critically injured. Despite receiving emergency medical care, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver, Eddie P. Jones Jr., 18, was charged with murder, while the passenger, DeMareon L. Curry, 19, was charged with auto theft. A 15-year-old female, who was listed as a missing person from Missouri, was also involved but not charged.
