Tragic Suicide Follows Police Pursuit in Omaha's Blackstone Area

A man identified as Rashad Harris allegedly shot and killed himself in Omaha's Blackstone neighborhood following a police pursuit. The pursuit began in Bellevue after officers attempted to pull over Harris, who had multiple warrants for his arrest. After crossing into Council Bluffs, Harris was located in Omaha by a police helicopter. The pursuit ended in Blackstone when officers used their cruisers to pin Harris' vehicle. He then shot and killed himself inside the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, and a grand jury will convene to investigate the incident as an in-custody death.
