The trooper was not charged, and there was no internal investigation. The video shows the trooper picking up the envelope and placing it on a slot machine before walking away with it. The trooper was allowed to retire, and the case was never presented to the prosecutor. The governor called it theft, and an interim superintendent of State Police has been appointed to investigate the alleged theft and other claims of wrongdoing.
