Woman Reunited with Family 50 Years After Abduction.

Texas authorities have confirmed the identity of Melissa Highsmith, who was abducted as a baby more than 50 years ago in 1971. Highsmith's family had been searching for her for decades, and a 23andMe test matched her with her children. The Fort Worth Police Department officially confirmed her ID through a separate DNA test. Highsmith was raised just 10 minutes from where she was abducted from her mother's Fort Worth, Texas, apartment. Although the criminal statute of limitations has expired, the Fort Worth Police Department Major Case Unit continues to ask for the public’s assistance with any additional information concerning Melissa’s abduction.
