Zearing Community Shaken by Family Abuse Case

Four family members in Zearing, Iowa, are charged with first-degree kidnapping and willful injury after severely abusing a 16-year-old family member who was found in an altered state and suffering life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed, rib fractures, bruising, and severe malnourishment. The victim, who weighed only 70 pounds, had been handcuffed and shackled to a bed in the house. The suspects face felony kidnapping charges and were sent to jail on $1 million bond.
