Manhattan DA Exonerates Two Men After Decades-Long Wrongful Convictions

The Manhattan District Attorney's office cited newly discovered evidence and lack of effective legal representation in Walker's case, while Gardine's conviction was based solely on the testimony of a teenager with a history of changing his story. Both men were found to be wrongfully convicted. These cases are part of a larger trend of exonerations due to wrongful convictions, with over a dozen people exonerated this year alone.
