FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Pleads Not Guilty to Fraud Charges, Survives on Bread and Water in Jail

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is reportedly struggling to prepare for his fraud trial due to a lack of adequate food in prison, according to his lawyer. Bankman-Fried, who pleaded not guilty to seven criminal charges in a new indictment, had his bail revoked two weeks ago after being accused of tampering with witnesses. His lawyer claims that he is subsisting on bread and water and has not been provided with necessary medication for ADHD and depression. The judge has requested the US Bureau of Prisons to address these issues. FTX, once the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2022.
